The martyred hero, the persevering journalist and fighter in his field, Hussam Shabat, was the voice of the oppressed in Gaza and an unbreakable lens of truth. He believed in his message and did everything in his power to convey the suffering of his people to the world, to give voice to those who have no voice, those whom the hypocritical world ignored and deliberately failed to see.

Hussam was close to the people, feeling their pain, crying over their suffering, and striving to extend a helping hand whenever he could. He wasn't just a newsreader, but a human being in every sense of the word. That's why the free people of the world loved him and the occupation, which hates the truth and fears the light, hated him.
